Notes

  • Recipe is enough seasoning for: 2 lbs. of chicken.
  • Variations: smoked paprika is a delicious swap. It is mild as written but if you'd like it spicy, add a little bit of cayenne pepper.
  • Big batch: change the serving size in the recipe card to calculate the ingredients into a large batch and keep the pre-mixed seasoning in a dry sealed container for future use. Use a little over 2 Tablespoons per pound of meat.
  • Storage: store taco seasoning in a tightly sealed glass jar away from direct light for up to 6 months.
  • To make tacos: one favorite way to use this seasoning is to:
    1. Cut the chicken into small 1/4" pieces, rubbing with 1 Tbsp. oil and then all of the seasoning.
    2. Let the chicken sit for at least half an hour (cover and refrigerate if longer).
    3. After marinating in seasoning, heat oil in a pan and cook the chicken over medium heat until it's no longer pink inside (6-8 mins)
    4. Squeeze the juice from a lime on top, toss and serve with your favorite taco fixings.
