Notes
Recipe is enough seasoning for: 2 lbs. of chicken.
Variations: smoked paprika is a delicious swap. It is mild as written but if you'd like it spicy, add a little bit of cayenne pepper.
Big batch: change the serving size in the recipe card to calculate the ingredients into a large batch and keep the pre-mixed seasoning in a dry sealed container for future use. Use a little over 2 Tablespoons per pound of meat.
Storage: store taco seasoning in a tightly sealed glass jar away from direct light for up to 6 months.
To make tacos: one favorite way to use this seasoning is to:
Cut the chicken into small 1/4" pieces, rubbing with 1 Tbsp. oil and then all of the seasoning.
Let the chicken sit for at least half an hour (cover and refrigerate if longer).
After marinating in seasoning, heat oil in a pan and cook the chicken over medium heat until it's no longer pink inside (6-8 mins)
Squeeze the juice from a lime on top, toss and serve with your favorite taco fixings.
